Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Census Transportation Planning Products (CTPP) program Oversight Board are hosting a conference entitled Applying Census Data for Transportation: 50 years of Transportation Planning Data Progress. The conference will explore current research; provide an opportunity for sharing experiences; examine strategies. The model views planning as a logical and technical process that uses the analysis of quantitative data to decide how to best invest resources in new and existing transportation infrastructure. Since World War II, this attitude in planning has resulted in the widespread use of travel modeling as a key component of regional transportation planning.

The book offers a comprehensive view of issues surrounding the geography of urban 5/5(3).

development strategies. The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) process, required by the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to receive funds for capital investment, is an important planning tool used by local officials, employers, and community leaders to guide future actions. Research conducted responds to public transportation issues of importance to the Council, AASHTO, and state departments of transportation. For example, when any new or revised federal transportation regulations related to transit are proposed or finalized, research is typically needed to develop new methods, processes, and procedures to ensure.
